The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a warning on Thursday regarding the fraudulent cryptocurrency platform ICHCoin. The platform is deceiving inverters across the US by luring them in through social media platforms. Plus it tricking investors into wiring large sums of money.

Victim of the ICHCoin cryptocurrency platform is led to believe that their investment is growing. However, they are ultimately left with nothing. Consequently, they are often causing them to lose their life savings.

Moreover, the FBI’s Houston office wants to identify additional victims of a fraudulent cryptocurrency platform that defrauded people across the US out of millions of dollars.

Moreover, Assistant Special Agent in Charge Amanda Culver said: that ICHCoin is a “scheme” and a “scam” that usually starts on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.

After that Scammers then move the communications to WhatsApp, where they act to be cryptocurrency investment experts. From there, they trick the victims into believing that their investments are growing. Plus they trick the victims into lying to their banks and sending large sums of money to the fraudulent platform.

Victims are misled into believing that their investments are increasing and are “scared” when they attempt to draw funds. Stressing that some victims lost their life savings, Culver said:

“The average person could certainly be fooled by this scam,” Culver said.

“I think it’s important for people to know that any time you receive unsolicited messages from people asking you to invest, promising high rates of return on your investment, telling you that they’re going to give you free money for you to invest, anything along those lines, those are red flags.”
